There are many reasons for choosing TEXOVERSUM School of Textiles as an exchange student.  Over the course of the years we layed the foundation of a new era for international young professionals in the textile industry.

We focus on educational development and research in the areas of design, technology and business. Knowledge must face the challenges of the 21st century and our substantial self-conception deals with globalization, fashion and lifestyle, mobility solutions, sustainability, digitalisation and healthiness. Nomination & Application Process

All nominations for student exchanges must come from the responsible person in the International Office of your home institution, so students wishing to participate in an exchange with the School of Textiles must  contact their own International Office first.

The partnership between Reutlingen University / School of Textiles and your home university must include a valid exchange agreement in our partner network. Your university must nominate you for the exchange programme.

When the nominations have been processed by your International Office, you receive an E-mail with the pre-arrival information and you can start the online application process at Reutlingen University.

The nomination will open in March 2025.

Language of instruction

The language of instruction in International Fashion Business and the 2 different Design projects is English (Level B2). 

Textile Technology courses are offered in German, only a few are in English, please send us an inquiry in case you are interested in any Textile Engineering courses.

You can learn German as a foreign language and register for one of the offered German courses by our Reutlingen International Office. They offer courses for Beginners and advanced level. The workload is graded with ECTS.

International students are welcome to join our German courses and workshops.

Student Accommodation

For all those who would like to live close to campus without having to forego cooking evenings and party together, student halls of residence are a cost-effective alternative to expensive private flats. Here you can find furnished and partly barrier-free single flats and shared rooms in various designs.

The halls of residence are run by external providers and the places are highly sought after. So find out more and apply quickly!
