The strong demand for sustainable products and processes in the textile and fashion industry and its global market requires the continuous implementation of the guiding principle of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in education, training and industry. The Fashion DIET project aims to develop new tools to improve the key competences of lecturers, teachers, trainers, students and young textile specialists with the following three measures:
1. further education module on ESD in the textile chain
2. information and e-learning database
3. teaching and learning materials
Project goals:
The objectives are environmentally and socially compatible production conditions in EU countries such as Romania and Bulgaria as well as a knowledge advantage through the transfer of ESD in all three partner countries, which should also have an impact on the consumer market, especially in Germany. The didactically prepared content and methodology will be developed by four partners in three countries: the Freiburg University of Education and Reutlingen University in Germany, the Gheorghe Asachi Iaşi University of Technology in Romania and the Trakian University Stara Sagora in Bulgaria.
The partner universities will develop, test and evaluate teaching and learning materials based on the latest research in the fields of fashion, textiles and sustainability as well as on a long tradition and experience in textile-related education and training.
